Ken Otomo, Head Chef of SUN with MOON

Ken Otomo helms the kitchen at SUN with MOON Japanese Dining & Café in Singapore where he specializes in Kansai cooking and Kyoto cuisine. An accomplished chef with 32 years of experience under his belt, Otomo san brings his expert culinary mastery to SUN’s contemporary mainstays as well as the restaurant’s seasonal and regional showcases. He began his foray into the food and beverage industry in 1990, where he trained to be a chef for 4 years at a prestigious Japanese restaurant in Yokohama that has been around since the Meiji era. Otomo san then went on to sharpen his culinary prowess at a hotel in Osaka for the next six years before moving to a local Hot Spring Resort as a Chef. In 2002, he took on the role of Sous Chef at Restaurant Suntory in Shanghai for 4 years. Otomo san then moved to Taiwan before returning to Tokyo where he was the Head Chef of various establishments for the next 14 years. His breadth of knowledge and expertise includes the exclusive pursuit of sushi, tempura, soba noodles and more at specialty restaurants where he honed his craft.
